Downie-Experience gives us wisdom

I hesitate to ever tell others what my songs mean.

I like that people can connect with my songs and find meaning in them for themselves. But, being that my music is also meant to convey my experience to help others, I also want them to get where I am coming from.

Based on the growing popularity of my recent single release ‘Unavailable’ and having just watched the movie Genius about the author Thomas Wolfe, this really hit home to me. "You have no idea of what I had to go through to get to where I am today - to look at you and feel nothing" ( from the movie Genius) Some of us do not recover quickly or easily when our heart is tossed aside by immaturity. "Pied Piper and Perter Pan" (Unavailable) However; it is this experience that gives us wisdom to know that when we love ourselves first we must be careful with whom we trust with our hearts. And when danger lurks we then step aside.

"I should've listened to my mother when she said "girl you better run". (from my song "Unavailable" ) There are some people who pull you in because it is the only way for them to feel good about themselves. Lacking their own self esteem they thrive on the energy and esteem of others. Once they have drained you they move on.

These are the people we love from a very safe distance!

TV AND FILM LICENSING OPPORTUNITY

Rosner Management Services is proud to announce the launch of "RMS Licensing and Publishing"  With years of experience in this area, Stephen Wrench of "Musik and Film",  one of the founding members of Lynyrd Skynyrd and one of the most respected music industry professionals in the world, will partner to deliver REAL Licensing opportunities by pitching to music supervisors on an on going basis. the company will focus on TV, Film, commercials, video games, retail stores and other licensing firms, to provide an on going push for your music. Mark Rosner explains the concept and what it means to the musicians of today. "I represent artists of all genres around the world. One thing most artists have in common is that they are busy. In fact, too busy AND lacking the knowledge of how to properly submit their music to music supervisors on a consistent basis. We have opportunities come across our desk quite frequently and always pass them onto our artists. However, for those artists that want to focus on "going after" opportunities aggressively, we can now offer them the guarantee that we are pursuing placements for them. In this world of music xray, song taxi, song catalogue, there are companies that will take $5-10 per submission and you rarely hear anything back, I wanted to be able to provide an environment for artists that they could have a proven industry team, pitching their music for placement opportunities, so they can focus on the many other aspects of their careers. You could never afford to hire someone to pitch only YOUR music every day. However, being a part of a company that has the ability to "target" the places that fit your music properly and has the connections to make it happen, is a great use of time and money. It is also priced very affordable, so it stands a good chance of achieving financial success as well. for information and a consultation, please send all inquiries to:

Symentha-Health, Music, Love

Health, Music and Love are my holy trinity of being.  Since I have found balance in this beautiful triad, my life has become a sweet song.

The more I have become at peace with my life and have merged so many valuable life lessons through my awakening journey, the more I see how sacred everything truly is.  From the darkness to the light, it is all divine.

Over the years as both my songs and myself evolve, my musical creations have become like  landmarks that let me know if I'm evolving.  No music, no movement.  That's my cue to check in and see where I've lost myself and forgotten the magic.  I'm a lover at heart so when songs are being birth'd through me, I know I'm tapped in to that special space of love's expansion through my own being.  It seems the more I awaken and deprogram from the sleeping slumber of my unconscious years, the more my music becomes like a master teacher that lets me know if I'm integrating my own consciousness or not.

Life is a game and music is the epic soundtrack that makes the journey a little sweeter.

E POWER SCHOOL TOUR HITS CANADA WITH A BANG!

The E Power Concert series began it's tour of BC and Alberta and it hit with a bang! Combining live music by two very talented young artists and a powerful message by "INSIDE OUT", a BC based company that delivers a  message of empowerment, anti bullying and self esteem in this 3 hour presentation, designed to reach our kids in the place where they spend a lot of their growing years....school. Although the kids are thinking, great, a few hours in the GYM instead of class!! they leave with lasting impression that life will be what you make it and you are not alone. This year, we are also recognizing Amanda Todd, who was bullied to the point of suicide and whose mom Carol Todd, has become a beacon of light to everyone, through her efforts to raise awareness of this tragic epidemic. We would like to thank our sponsors, some of whom are listed and hashtagged in this blog. without their support both with services and funds, this tour would not be possible. Thank you so much to you and the entertainers and Fascilitators that have worked so hard to make this happen!. If you are looking to be involved or help out, even in a small way, please visit the link and it will explain what we are doing and what is needed going forward.https://www.gofundme.com/epowerconcerts

Simon-Life is Worth Living in Peace

Hi everyone,

Presently I'm working on my guitar skills.

Through out the years I’ve learned a few styles like Rock, Folk or Blues and flirted with others. Now I’ve got the chance to learn Jazz like a chef and I’m enjoying every minute of it. (It’s a big challenge) Creating and recording my album “Inside Out” was a special task. I was still struggling with Bipolarity and I made sure that everything I touched was very creative. Now it’s been a good while since I’ve been unstable.

Life is back to normal with my job, music and all I can get out of it. I know I cannot be cured. But I’m working really hard everyday to make my life a balanced and happy one. Because in the long run, life is worth living in peace.

Take care friends and see you around.

Downie-Humble, Grateful and Unavailable

In light of the recent reviews having just come in for my song ‘Unavailable’ I am most humbled and grateful. And based on these reviews I also want to share my thoughts about being a songwriter, singer and artist.

In this day and age of reality TV, as artists, songwriters, musicians and singers, there is a fine line between letting the audience know you and keeping a private profile. I think it is all pretty well understood by now that “reality TV” is not reality. It is all lead and contrived cheaply produced shows making the producers of said shows quite wealthy. If this is your life’s goal then it is a brilliant plan. It is also known by now that many of the singers that show up on The American Idol and The Voice type competition shows have been placed on these shows by management agencies who are building an audience for these “discovered” artists, all with the goal of making huge amounts of money for greed that permeates Western life. It is not for the sake of art or music or those discovered! When you allow corporate greed and big business to take over art, in a culture of instant gratification and success, it stands to reason that this is what you get. A culture of putting together songwriters and producers with any performing monkey to create the next big thing. But here is the problem. Although you can be entertained, this is not art or a real artist standing naked before an audience being vulnerable exposing any real part of themselves that could be torn down and rejected. As a result you have to create an illusion behind the performing monkey that makes an audience believe they have any depth or have earned their place in front of an audience in the form of a “back story”. And in this process many such performers are ruined as they are subjected to this brutality being sold the dream of fame and fortune. If I just had a big house on a big hill with the right address and band account then all my problems would be solved. If I was just famous! And then, just for the chance to “make it”, we sell our pitiful pasts to get others to like us based just on how bad we had it.
It should all go without saying. My music is a reflection of my life. I connect and share my human experience and journey with others. If I can make others laugh, cry or think a new thought this is my goal.

As artists we risk it all by standing vulnerable and naked in front of others to be accepted or rejected. It is like standing before someone you like, knowing they might not like you back but to connect with an audience or to find love, we must do it.

To be this vulnerable is the scariest thing of all.
